DESCRIPTION
For two weeks in January of 2005 a black cat was reported to be living under the stage in the Susan Moore gym. Many students had seen this cat but no one had been able to catch it. There was evidence that at night the cat roamed throughout the school looking for food, evidence such as tipped over wastebaskets in the hallways and food eaten in Coach Jennings room.

Asked to help out I set the same trap used to catch Bingo (read Bingo's story here) in my classroom. Sure enough, the next morning the black cat soon to be named "Shiloh" was caught.

Shiloh was taken to Oneonta Animal Hospital to be checked out, get his tests, shots, deworming, etc. and to be "fixed" in preparation for putting him up for adoption. He was generally healthy but did need some antibiotics for a skin condition for several months. After observing Shiloh at the vet it was obvious he was too shy and scared to put him up for open adoption. But Bingo was our 6th cat and we couldn't fit any more in our house! Fortunately, Mrs. Cantlin's mother was retiring from 40 years of teaching and moving from Florida to Huntsville and expressed an interest in adopting Shiloh. We kept Shiloh from January until June when he was moved to his new home. He is doing GREAT and especially likes to sit on the sofa and watch baseball (no kidding). Being an only cat and strictly indoors is what Shiloh needed and he is a very affectionate and happy cat. He drools when he is scratched he likes it so much, his favorite toy is a red tennis ball. After a very rough and scary first year Shiloh is enjoying his new home.
