Redo Policy -- General Requirements You can make up almost any exam or quiz except those at the end of a quarterly grading period. An exception is that "Definitions & Formula Quizzes" will not generally be allowed to be redone. You will be expected to have mastered the applicable Definition & Formulas before taking a redo exam or quiz. You must attend at least two (2) help sessions for a test or quiz and at least one for homework-- either after school or on Saturdays as described above. The first session is to show me that you have restudied your weak areas or to get help on those areas. The second is for the redo. Low exams generally take longer than two sessions to redo becacause of the amount of material involved. Redos are normally scored at the 92% level, for example, say you scored a 65% on the original test and you score a 100% on the redo. A 92% would go in the gradebook for that test. |
What Form Will The Redo Take? Usually you will, once we both agree you are ready for a redo, take an assignment that has similar problems to the original test. Often the tests will be multiple choice. When time permits, you may be asked to work out problems in identified weak areas in lieu of a multiple choice test. |
What Should I Bring? Studying your oroginal work and analyzing your mistakes is an important part of any redo. DO NOT THROW OUT ANY WORK until the end of the grading period. Bring all applicable work to the help session. Bring the applicable flash cards for the topic you are reviewing so you can demonstrate your mastery of the applicable Definitions & Formulas. Of course you should bring your math notebook/supplies. |
