Books!

Ok, I accept the Algebra 1 Period 4 Class Challenge.

Seven students will read one of the below books:

Of course, other students are welcome to join in at any time.

So what is the challenge, what do I have to do? Well, after heaping a little scorn on the "Twilight" vampire book series, I must now read the first book in the series.

  • Twilight - by Stephenie Meyer (Mr. C.)

The question arose as to how one would know I really read the book. I will leave it to each of the students to prove to me they held up their end of the bargain. As for me, I will publish a summary of each chapter as I finish it. Spoiler alert, don't read these if you plan to read the book! To show that you should be looking up words you don't know, I will also make a vocabulary list for each chapter of words that I know that I think you might not know -- and should have looked up. Anyone can challenge me on one of these words, if you know it and I don't you get a peppermint. No challenges during math!

There is only one chance for a first impression, and while it turns out your first impression is often way off base, it can still add some value to remember what you first thought of something. So I also recorded my first impression of the book after reading Chapter 1.
